From France, and by the webzine Kaos Guards, comes this review of the new album. It clearly describes the best features of A Medianoche: tempos seducers, melodies and effectiveness. It seems that the new album is creating good attention on the French media, this is the second french review... both with great words.

We can read:

"C’est un son fluide et limpide qui nous parvient à nos petites oreilles qui en redemandent. Les accords de gratte se démarquent clairement de l’orchestration et permettent à l’instrument d’être mis en avant, le tout conjugué avec une rythmique impeccable et entraînante comme sur « Sueños de libertad ». La mélodie quand à elle ne fait pas défaut à la galette. Chaque titre, même les plus lents comme sur « Pesadillas » où l’on peut entendre une guitare acoustique, est un condensé d’énergie musicale."

The exquisite French webzine, Hard Rock 80, publishes a new review (check below the Quintaesencia one) of a LEYENDA record. If Quintaesencia was one of the best album of 2005, A Medianoche repeats obtaining a 80/100. It favours songs like Sonríes a Medianoche, Mi Perdón or En Tu Ausencia and they compared LEYENDA to some Spanish bands like AVALANCH or SARATOGA.

We can read:

"Enfin, ce A Medianoche, est un grand disque, qui permet à LEYENDA de passer le cap pourtant parfois difficile du second album, qui permettra au groupe de poursuivre sereinement sa route. En ce qui me concerne je persiste à penser que LEYENDA est un des tous meilleurs groupe espagnols, qui a ma préférence sur d'autres pointures ibériques du genre, tels que AVALANCH et SARATOGA."

If the Leyenda demo appeared in the Metal Integral release of October 2004 (click here) now the band is again inside its pages. Now, LEYENDA re-appears with the full-length album Quintaesencia.

Foreign reviews have been very optimists with LEYENDA and now it is not an exception.
We are very proud that our language opens doors outside our country, spreading our message and our feeling.

Proof of that is reflected in the upper right logo that appears in the review, where we can see a guitar crossing a heart, symbol of the good feeling.

From the Frech lines we can extract:

"...Songs are diverse but homogeneous, there are some fast, other pure melodic metal, other metal 80's even a great ballad full of feeling (Espérame), although God knows that I am not a very ballad lover..."

Raskal says goodbye with an emotive:

"Messieurs de LEYENDA, Bravo!"

The Spanish edition of the Kerrang! Magazine reviews the Quintaesencia album in the May number. It describes the band as a hard rock and heavy metal one, with very good ballads and straight themes. Some kind words can be read, as:

...musically speaking, this work has no lacks, composition is taken with care and instruments are perfectly harmonized.

From "Behind the Veil", a webzine dedicated to metal and rock music, comes this review to the Support The Underground Compilation where LEYENDA appeared in Summer 2003 with the song "Llegaré Al Final"

4.LEYENDA "Llegare Al Final": Leyenda come from Spain and as most Spanish metal bands they pay their homage to the masters of heavy metal, IRON MAIDEN. A very interesting and catchy song with a very good production. If you are not annoyed from the Spanish language (I am not!), check them out. they are in the vein of MAGO DE OZ and TIERRA SANTA. Taken from the "Leyenda" cd.

In May 2003 appeared in this magazine the review of our ATLANTIS, a demo recorded 2 years ago. Now they publish the review of LEYENDA, 1 year after Kerrang! and 6 months after Rock Hard. This time, Paco Fernández is not very accurate with his comments saying that the "style is very close to first steps of Helloween or Judas Priest", nothing further... secondly he complains about the lyrics, which all his colleagues (Rock Hard and Kerrang!) mentioned them as very good. We thank his comments like "good sound, good compositions and good music".

LEYENDA ‘LEYENDA’ (INDEPENDENT)

We’re back in Spain again with yet another new sensational Melodic Rock/Metalband. This band is called LEYENDA and they come out of Madrid. Their CD contains only 3 tracks, but what we get to hear is of a very high level. The first song “Y Veras” starts calm, as a ballad, but develops into a great catchy uptempo melodic rocker, not too far away from TIERRA SANTA and AVALANCH. Next track “Leyenda” is a great semi melodic rockballad and finally “Llegare al final” is a very good uptempo Melodic Heavy Rock/Metal tune. Tercera maqueta de los madrileños Leyenda. Tras 'Atlantis' y 'Lluvia de Metal' vuelven a la carga con un trabajo homónimo. Y esperemos que sea la última, porque ciertamente tienen calidad suficiente como para conseguir de una vez por todas contrato discográfico. Practican un heavy-metal clásico muy bueno que si hubiera que encontrarles algún parecido, podría ser con Tierra Santa, pero la verdad es que tienen su propio estilo.
Tras varios cambios de formación, la presente parece consolidada con Fernando Martínez (guitarra solista, coros), David Ramos (bajo, coros), Antonio Sanz, (voz, guitarra rítmica) y Enrique Agustín Úbeda (batería) y la colaboración de Héctor Reyes a los teclados.
La maqueta consta de tres temas de alrededor de 6 minutos de duración cada uno. La presentación está muy currada y ya no hablemos de la producción (realizada por ellos mismos): sobresaliente y además teniendo en cuenta que se trata de una maqueta. La única pega que le encuentro yo es que a veces la voz de Antonio (letrista de los tres temas) se encuentra por debajo de la música en vez de sobre ella.
El primer tema es 'Y Verás', un tema que va creciendo poco a poco hasta llegar a su punto álgido con el estribillo, el cual no paro de tararear desde hace tres días. Sin duda la mejor del disco. Le sigue 'Leyenda' un tema algo más lento, con otro gran estribillo. Y llegamos al final con 'Llegaré al Final' una canción también muy buena, pero a mi parecer la más floja, lo cual no quiere decir que sea mala, todo lo contrario.
Son tres canciones muy pero que muy buenas, muy bien compuestas y ejecutadas. Destacan las guitarras, realmente impresionantes, con melodías muy interesantes. La temática de la letra es la típica: caballeros y espadas. Y hasta el cantante, que es lo que suele flojear en las formaciones nóveles, sin ser un superdotado cumple su función con sobresaliente.
Desde el 95 llevan peleando por todos los escenarios de Madrid y esperamos que la próxima vez que este grupo aparezca en Metal Thunder no sea en esta sección, porque realmente se lo merecen.

The Spanish edition of Rock Hard made a review for the ATLATIS demo seven months before they published this one to LLUVIA DE METAL. This time, they best score musical and sound progresses, giving best words to "Mas Alla del Fin", one of the best LEYENDA song ever.

Alianza made 2 reviews to the first demos of the band: ATLANTIS and LLUVIA DE METAL. Juanma Martínez discovered in LEYENDA something special, demostrating it in the final comments about LLUVIA DE METAL: "...LEYENDA has greatly surprised me and they are more interesting each time."

We sent our latest demo, LEYENDA, but instead they made the review to ATLANTIS, which was sent 2 years before (see the review below). Best of all is that, this time, they gave a better score than then (maybe they knew us :-)

It was the second review they made to us (the first one was 2 or 3 years before, when the band was called Infernal) and the feeling was good. The faults were that the lyrics seemed to be quite likely to those about "dungeons and dragons"...

They were very late but they finally published our review (we send our demo in February 2001). It was the first review we take and we payed a lot of attention to those words. Maybe they gave us the aim to go ahead...
